SEAN
DIGIORGIO
Hi! I’m Sean DiGiorgio — a director and filmmaker based in the DMV area, currently earning my B.A. in Theatre Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with a focus on directing. My work creates space for hearts that light matches in the dark — on both stage and screen.
As a director, I blend the visual language and emotional rhythm of film with the immediacy of live theatre, shaping precise stage pictures, fluid transitions, and striking imagery to create experiences that feel like a movie unfolding in real time.
Most of my work stems from new play development, where I find the most rewarding challenges and opportunities. Past projects include acting in Slime by Bryony Lavery and directing I'll Follow Tomorrow by Jerrod Jordahl. Currently, I’m directing the regional debut of User Agreement by Ben Holbrook and serving as associate director on the serpent under't, Nigel Semaj’s inventive adaptation of Macbeth. My process emphasizes dramaturgical insight, inventive staging, and fostering an environment where new voices can take bold creative risks.

As a performer, I’ve appeared in UMBC’s mainstage productions of Slime (U.S. premiere, as Frezzle) and Stupid Fcking Bird* (as Trigorin). These acting experiences continue to shape my directorial lens, enriching my work with a deep understanding of actor process, voice, and narrative rhythm.

I’m passionate about crafting theatrical and film experiences that feel visually rich, emotionally immediate, and rhythmically precise. Whether I’m staging a new play or shooting a short film, my goal is to blend the cinematic and the theatrical — creating work that lingers in the imagination like a vivid scene from a movie.
Let’s make something cinematic.
